 Happy Monday!  I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend.  I was working on cleaning up after the MAJOR festivities here and found this page.  I made it for a scrapbook challenge and never submitted it because it was under a stack of papers. Happy Thanksgiving!

 Well, it’s Thanksgiving Eve here and preparations are in full swing.  Let me rephrase….it’s WILD around here!  Not only is it Thanksgiving tomorrow, but it is little superhero 1 & little superhero 2’s birthday! Needless to say, we are in full party/hosting swing.  I wanted to take a few moments to say how very thankful I am for each and every one of you!   I am truly grateful for you sharing this creative journey with me, as well as pieces of my life.  I pray your Thanksgiving is truly blessed with family, friends, and yummy food.

Here is a quick, cute little project I made for the “Cake table” for tomorrow.  I found the cute little chalkboard at the craft store on clearance and thought  I had to buy it! Well, mainly because it was on clearance and I knew I had some Stampin’ Up stuff to embellish it with.  I love this set called Sprinkles of life!  I stamped a window sheet with black staz on for the top of the cupcake.  I mixed some dazzling diamonds and reinker and used crystal effects to adhere it.  I let it dry, then I used the tree builder punch to punch it out.  I stamped the white dots with whisper white.  Tip:  You can’t roll the stamp. You can’t push super hard because whisper white is a craft ink and is super “juicy” which makes it smear on a smooth surface if you push too hard.  Also, be sure to use your embossing gun to set the dots.

Growing so fast!

I can’t believe how fast this little Wonder Woman is growing! I wanted to showcase some fun pictures we took of her in her “little black dress” on her 6 month birthday. I love black and white and thought the Project Life cards would be perfect with these pictures. I did just a small splash of color with the pink pirouette card stock from Stampin’ Up. A star is born….

Hello World!!!! This girl FINALLY made her grand entrance!  She is so full of personality at such a young age. When I looked at the accessory pack and saw this glittery star, she was the first thing that came to mind.   I must admit….I have a serious addiction to glitter and sequins!

I am amazed at how much comes in these accessory packs!  I feel like I have used it for my last 5 layouts.  I used the sticker letters on this page to write the title.  The problem I had was that I felt that the letters faded into the page and you couldn’t really see them.  I used a sharpie and traced each letter and that really made them stand out.

Cherish

Cherish.  It’s such a small word, but such a sweet meaning.  This is the only way we can describe how we feel about this woman.  We cherish her.  For so many reasons we cherish her.  She is our daughter’s birthmom.  She is brave, strong, kind, and an amazing woman.  Notice how the journal box is still empty.  How do you wrap up a million feelings into one small box?!  There is so much I want to say that I would probably need 100 journal boxes.  When I look at this page, I am reminded of the emotions and the feelings I felt at that very moment.  That’s what scrapbooking is about.  Not about masterpieces with beautiful embellishments (although we love those and can’t seem to have enough of them!).  It’s about treasuring feelings of moments that change your life.  Moments that make up your life story.  I encourage you to get back to the basics.  To not be overwhelmed by the latest and greatest new thing in the scrapbooking world.  To get those pictures off your computer, out of your phone, and into those books.  Books that others will look at for years to come.

Stash busters challenge ….

What a challenge! I was challenged to use those scrapbook supplies that have been sitting in the drawer forever. It was tough, but I managed to use them. I love that Stampin’ Up colors coordinate so well together. It made this page easy to make. I used up some scraps of designer series paper I had been hanging onto and some of that matching ribbon.  What have you been hanging onto in your scrap stash?

Lucky in love…

You know that one page that has been on your table or in your stash forever and you just haven’t finished it yet?!  This is it for me. I had the scrapbook paper I thought I was going to use, embellishments, layout I wanted and just couldn’t get it to look the way I wanted it to.  The top left pic was a professional picture taken by the chapel and the only copy I had.  (Yikes!)  So, like most scrapbookers, I couldn’t bring myself to crop it.  That is until today.  I trimmed the 5×7 shot to a 4×6 to fit into this layout. I used this sketch because I wanted to complete a scrapbook challenge sketch I had seen.  I absolutely love black and white and all things sparkly!  I felt this page was a bit too plain, so I added the red glimmer paper  from Stampin’ Up and was pleased with how it made the page pop.  I was also short on embellishments, so I made my own.  You can see how I layered the tea lace paper doilies, red glimmer circle, and black circle together to create an embellishment.

The title card is from the Love Story Project Life card collection.  I think this is the 10th layout I have done using this card collection.  It lends itself to so many types of pages.

These Days……

These guys….These days.  They are loud, competitive, kind, sweet brothers who love to push each other’s buttons.  I guess that’s what siblings are about right?!  I wanted to keep this layout simple and focus on the pictures instead of the embellishments.  I love how the Project Life card works as a title and the other as an embellishment.  These cards are from the Moments Life These bundle.  I must admit, I wasn’t sure how I would like the mint macron color with black and white.  It really works nicely though.  Once everything was cut it only took me 10 minutes to put this layout together.  I love how Project Life speeds along the scrapbooking process.  Once I figured out how to use them in a traditional way, I fell in love.  Give it a try!  You will love it!
