What an amazing day celebrating this guy! Happy birthday to my honey! Not only was it his birthday, but a new baby was born into the family! It was a busy day to say the least. It’s a good thing these pages are so easy to whip up. The cards are cut, the sleeves are ready, and all I had to do was journal and add a few stickers. This would have taken me a year to document the traditional way. What I decided to do was journal the events of the day in this book and use that as a starting point when I go to make the traditional pages with the rest of the pictures. Lord knows I will forget by then what actually happened. Are you finding different ways to use Project Life? Share it with other scrappers on Scrappy Supergirls on Facebook. As we wait patiently here in Florida for winter, I thought I would work on a page from last winter. It was officially FREEZING! For us Floridians, anything below 65 degrees is freezing. It was our first family of 5 photo shoot with our amazing photographer friend Tara McGovern. We had planned clothes for much warmer weather and the temperatures dropped so quickly overnight that we were scrambling at the last minute. This page totally came together when I saw the glittery Hello Winter overlay from the Project Life Hello December 2015 accessory pack. I thought the snowflakes made a perfect accent to our “winter” theme. In case you didn’t see my tip from the last post on these vellum stickers, be sure you know exactly where you are putting them before you stick them down. They are beautiful stickers, but are in fact vellum and pick up fibers from cardstock if you try to move them. I normally cut them out and then move them around before peeling/sticking them down. I layered the vellum stickers onto a whisper white circle and then used some dimensionals to make it look more like an embellishment.
Although it’s only fall, I am looking forward to some winter weather. How about you?
Have a super Monday!
As promised, here is our gratitude board. I inked a 16×20 canvas. I used the project life framelits to ensure every one was the same size. It was so much easier to cut them with the framelits because I didn’t have to go back and round every single corner. I layered each number either with a scallop circle punch and coordinating circle punch, or a decorative label punch and coordinating circle punch. There are only 22 days because we are super busy this time of year. This allows from some “catching up” days. Behind each designer paper, there is a prompt to encourage conversations on gratefulness. Since my superheroes need to practice their writing, they will be using these prompts in a journal each day. How many of you are crafting this weekend? If you are, join us over on Facebook at facebook.com/scrappysupergirls . Feel free to upload your creations to our page! Have a super awesome weekend!
