Well, I finally did it. Here is my first ever challenge page. I worked completely off a sketch and stayed within the confines of that. I had a few sheets of the school house designer paper left from another project and it worked beautifully with this sketch. If I am being totally honest, I am in love with the Epic stamp set. It is awesome for titles and for making cute embellishments like the stars on this layout. I hope you get some time to scrapbook this weekend. Or paper therapy as so many call it. Have a SUPER weekend!
As we wait patiently here in Florida for winter, I thought I would work on a page from last winter. It was officially FREEZING! For us Floridians, anything below 65 degrees is freezing. It was our first family of 5 photo shoot with our amazing photographer friend Tara McGovern. We had planned clothes for much warmer weather and the temperatures dropped so quickly overnight that we were scrambling at the last minute. This page totally came together when I saw the glittery Hello Winter overlay from the Project Life Hello December 2015 accessory pack. I thought the snowflakes made a perfect accent to our “winter” theme. In case you didn’t see my tip from the last post on these vellum stickers, be sure you know exactly where you are putting them before you stick them down. They are beautiful stickers, but are in fact vellum and pick up fibers from cardstock if you try to move them. I normally cut them out and then move them around before peeling/sticking them down. I layered the vellum stickers onto a whisper white circle and then used some dimensionals to make it look more like an embellishment.
Although it’s only fall, I am looking forward to some winter weather. How about you?
Have a super Monday!
This may possibly be my favorite scrapbook page of all time. It isn’t the fanciest page or the most elaborate. It’s my favorite because of the photos. These photos capture so many feelings that came together in a moment. Almost 3 years of praying for our daughter, raising the money to bring her home, the ups and downs of being matched or not matched….all came together in this moment. The moment our family of four became a family of five. This is our first embrace after our daughter was born. These pictures are the focus. Our pictures should always be the focus. I encourage you to get back to the basics….the pictures that showcase the memories. That’s the entire reason we do it. Even when we get distracted with all those embellishments. I know I do it too. I challenge you today to find 2-3 pictures you want to showcase. Make a simple (GASP) page that features the pictures. Join us over on Facebook at Facebook.com/scrappysupergirls and upload your “simple page” and see other friends post their challenge pages. Post your page by Saturday 10/31 to be entered in a drawing for a free prize from me!
Have a super happy day!
